Had a great time with my friends! The location was super convenient, being close to Ueno station. We visited the nearby museums and explored several Japanese restaurants just a minute away. The staff were incredibly helpful, even helping us with our luggage. The rooms were compact but had everything we needed, including strong air conditioning.

We found the room quite tiny for the price, and it would have been great to have some bottled water available since we had to buy it outside.

i almost gave ueno touganeya a decent rating, but i just couldn’t. the room had a strange odor that made my stay quite unbearable. the ‘hotel’ overlooks the fact that noisy families ruin a supposedly peaceful environment. i expected a complimentary coffee or something for my troubles, yet all i got was a tired old room.

we loved staying at ueno touganeya! it’s just a quick 2-minute walk to the jr ueno station, which made getting around super easy. the bunk bed room was spacious enough for our luggage, and the laundry facilities were a lifesaver during our trip. nearby, there were plenty of restaurants and a lawson store, making dining convenient.

Oh man, the sushi at Gindaco Taishu Sakaba Ueno was legendary! And don’t miss out on Kushikin for a cozy meal. Plus, the early check-in was a lifesaver and the double room had all the essentials for a short stay.

But heads up—those doors are a bit tricky if you're over 165cm, and the lounge could use some sprucing up. Still, overall, this place shines bright in the Ueno area!

Super clean place and super close to everything! We loved that our kid had a cool bunk bed in the family room, and the sitting area was a nice addition. The location is perfect, tons of food options nearby, but the double room was a bit tight for 3 of us. Free coffee in the lobby was great too!
